sensesNew Jersey quintet Senses Fail has released their second full length album entitled, Still Searching . From the start it’s very clear that this album has many similarities to their previous album Let it Enfold You. There is however a definite progression that can be seen when comparing the two albums. According to lead singer Buddy Nielsen, Still Searching is a moody album, and even hard for him to listen to once in a while, Nielsen also adds, “I’d much rather start dealing with this stuff when I’m 22 than when I’m 35 and have a family and real responsibility.” His interpretation of the album is definitely true, with each track banging the message hard that it’s time to examine your life and really think about things.

Throughout Still Searching there is much talk about drinking; as a means to escape from the harsh realities of life and love, lose of faith and confusion, along with many other individual problems. Much of the album seems to emphasize the notion of confusion and other personal problems. As opposed to Let it Enfold You ‘s plethora of lost love songs, this album is mainly set in personal dilemma.

With lyrics like, “I hope my mother and my father think that they’ve raised a healthy boy” and “I know I got a tattoo for a reason,” important, self-reflection subjects turn up, and unlike most other artists in this growing genre, Senses Fail has succeeded in creating a very personal album that is much tighter and stronger then their previous.
