cover_baysideBayside is back in session, and I’m not talking about Zach Morris and A.C. Slater. This Bayside comes from Long Island, and their trying to make it off that island and hopefully on to a different one (Island Records). Sirens and Condolences was released in January 2004, which is the perfect time to release an upbeat CD like Bayside has done here. Drown your winter sorrows with Bayside’s melodic emo rock, and capture yourself in lyrics of love and heartbreak. While Bayside’s high pitched sound can grow tiring after awhile, they balance it out well with harder driven songs like “Kellum”. Soft melody’s, hard guitar riffs and a pleasant voice makes Bayside’s Sirens and Condolences a definite buy. A stronger follow up album will be needed to bring Bayside to the next level. Perfect for carpools, pleasant tone can please almost anyone.
